Greg Grunberg’s Unreleased Dream Jumper Gets Film Deal

Perennial J.J. Abrams’ repertory player Greg Grunberg (Alias, Felicity, Heroes, Star Wars: The Force Awakens) has collaborated with illustrator Lucas Turnbloom through Scholastic Books on Dream Jumpers: Nightmare Escape, the first in a series set for release on June 28, 2016.

The book, which Grunberg cites was born out of a chance meeting with Turnbloom at Comic Con San Diego, is about a 12-year old boy named Ben who discovers his ability to jump into other people’s dreams. As an evil dream monster begins to take control of his friends’ dreams and prevent them from waking, Ben must use his new-found talents to combat it and save his friends.

Already the book has been generating buzz, particularly with Grungerg’s former boss, the almighty Abrams himself. As reported by CBR,  Paramount has snapped up the film rights to Dream Jumper, with Abrams’ production company Bad Robot tasked to produce the adaptation.

In the meantime, we can’t wait to see what Grunberg and company has cooked up. Stay tuned for a future book review!
